An idea for a nice feature - 2007/06/23 07:55
Hi, Ash here from the litestep scene. I was wondering if you could explain to me a little bit about how the snapshotting is done for the thumbnails. I noticed that miniMIZE really doesnt like alpha blended PNG's and the like. For example, windowblinds 5.x themed windows always minimize with a nice ugly black border around them, and live messenger has a great big black gap at the top. Is this because miniMIZE doesnt support alpha mapping or because it cant "see" through the alpha and replace the background behind it? Im guessing its the latter or a combination of the two. I also noticed that miniMIZE adds its own shadow to the background of a thumbnail. If you did happen to overcome the alpha problems, then you would essentially get two shadows, as thats what the alpha is for in most windowblinds 5.x themes. Is it feasible or even possible to alphamap those thumbnails to make them look nicer? And if so, could we get a nice zoom effect as well?
