[REQ] thumbnail placement + fill up gaps. - 2006/05/10 13:24 First, I want to say that I like this application very much.

I have a few feature requests:

More options to position your thumbnails:
  • left-margin, right-margin, top-margin, bottom-margin

  • a way to define the space between two thumbs.

If you maximize a window again, I would like to see that miniMIZE rearanges the thumbs again and that that gaps are filled up again.

(Is the source somewhere available? I would like to have a look at your code )

Greets,

stivani

Re:[REQ] thumbnail placement + fill up gaps. - 2006/06/14 07:29 hi stivani,

thanks for the comments. The particular values that you have requested are on the feature list, I just did a basic implementation initially to test out the concepts.

The problem with re-arranging the thumbnails when you maximize/ restore a window is that then you don't know where your thumbnails are anymore. It makes the app harder to use. I guess I could always add it as an option, so I'll think about it.

Unfortunately I haven't yet decided to release the code, so no, currently it is not available.

Re:[REQ] thumbnail placement + fill up gaps. - 2006/08/12 21:40 I agree that it would get confusing however i have an idea. If a window was closed then its space is removed then all windows slide over. It might me confusing if every time you maximized(or restored) they changed so it may be better to keep the spacein this case.

By the way i love this tool tis very sleek!

Re:[REQ] thumbnail placement + fill up gaps. - 2006/09/14 01:14 I agree with stivani.

From a usability standpoint, the issue with the current implementation is that, as a user go about the day using miniMIZE, application thumbnails are soon scattered all over the desktop. To search for the right thumbnail hence takes time.

There should be an option to recycle spaces previously occupied by other apps.
