Of course, I've beta tested so many programs that I don't know why I didn't do it, shame on me 
And since I've been able to reproduce the error, it will be easy: I was minimizing Paint Shop Pro 8.
It looks like the palettes are not the problem, closing them won't prevent the program from crashing, so it's probably about the main window.
I tested it with a dozen of other programs and games and had no problem.
The problem with YZshadows did not occur again.
